Grandma’s Recipe’s: Tea Time Tassies

This is a classic recipe for Tea Time Tassies, a favorite of mine for the holidays 🎄

Ingredients

For the Pastry:

• 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

• 3 ounces cream cheese, softened

• 1 cup all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

• 1 large egg

• 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

• 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pastry:

1. In a medium mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.

2. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.

3. Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces and roll each into a small ball.

4. Press each ball into the bottom and sides of an ungreased mini muffin tin to form a cup shape.

2. Prepare the Filling:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a small bowl, beat the egg until lightly foamy.

3. Mix in the brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Stir in the chopped pecans.

3. Assemble the Tassies:

1. Spoon the filling evenly into the prepared pastry cups, filling about 3/4 full.

2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the pastry is lightly golden.

4. Cool and Serve:

1. Allow the tassies to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then carefully remove them to a wire rack to cool completely.

2. Serve at room temperature.

Hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I do. Happy Holidays!
